Dale Gold

After a long and varied career in classical music, Dale Gold settled in Queenstown, where he now finds time to explore his jazz roots. Prior to spending nearly three decades as principal double bass of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Dale enjoyed gigs as varied as the Philadelphia Lyric Opera, Philadelphia Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as well as chamber music and recording work at the famous Sigma Sound Studio.

Dale's jazz experiences have included The New Zealand Jazz Orchestra, the Tom Szczesniak Quartet, The Harvey Maguire Trio, Remarkable Dixie and frequent duo performances with renowned local pianist Mark Wilson.
