Presenting legendary New Zealand jazz pianist Mike Nock, with Brett Hirst (double bass) and James Waples (drums). 

The Mike Nock Trio have been recieving rave reviews about their live concerts and albums and Nock is especially looking forward to playing in Queenstown.

Nock has been based in Australia since 1985 and his compositions include orchestral music, woodwind/percussion ensembles, electronic/choral works etc and have been recorded and performed by a range of jazz & non-jazz performers. From his first public performance in the Ngaruawahia Town Hall in 1952 pianist/composer Mike Nock has performed with an extraordinary range of the world’s top musicians. His many recordings, projects and tours since his return home in 1985 after 25 years in the US, have kept him at the forefront of Australasian jazz. In February he received the 2014 Don Banks Award, one of Australia’s most prestigious music prizes and in 2009 was inducted into the Bell Awards Australian Jazz Hall of Fame.
