Will Martin

Will Martin is an Dunedin based jazz pianist who has maintained a two-year Friday night residency at the popular Carousel Lounge Bar in Dunedin as the leader of the Will Martin Trio. He has performed three times at the Otago Festival of the Arts with groups such as "Entropy Trio" (Paul Young), the "Bobby Vinson Combo" (Robert Milne) and more recently "Karin Reid and the Will Martin Trio.

Will has accompanied touring artists such as Jeff Bradley and Edwina Thorne and is the co-host of the long running "Jazz Junction" show on Radio One with Richard Good. He works as a jazz educator in Dunedin and teaches classical piano at St Hilda's College. He also holds a doctorate in English literature from the University of New South Wales and is the author of the book Joyce and the Science of Rhythm (Palgrave-MacMillan 2012).
